Fourteen years of exhibitions

Ultrastudio began in 2012 as a studio shared by six artists, in an old printworks rented in via Raiale. In 2015 its central nave became a gallery: the first artist-run non-profit space in Abruzzo.

More than fifty exhibitions and residencies followed, in Pescara and beyond: Milan, Rome, Turin, Paris, Lisbon, the island of Terceira in the Azores, Los Angeles, Austin.

Since 2016 the Guest programme has invited Italian and international artists to live and work in the space, through to a final exhibition. Guests have included Richie Culver from England, Xavier Mary from Belgium, David Hanes, and Gabriele De Santis from Rome.

For four years part of the activity moved to Los Angeles: projects, exhibitions and a network of artists that remains active today. Among them, in 2019, But Love Left No Room For Hydration by Romeo Roxman Gatt.

For years the association bore this name, in the singular. Since 2026 it has been called Ultrastudios: one studio has become many. The complete exhibition archive remains at ultrastudio.space.
